Kopernio - A Browser Plugin to Quick Retrieve PDF: Home

Kopernio is a browser plugin that finds legal PDF copies of academic articles while you browse. Links appear on Google Scholar search pages, on journal websites, anywhere you are looking for access to articles.

About Kopernio

Kopernio is a free browser plugin developed by Clarivate, the parent company of Web of Science. It works in your browser to get you the best PDF copy of open access as well as subscribed articles you want to find.  It works behind the scenes in your browser to get you the best PDF copy of articles that you're looking for. Kopernio can be used both on and off campus.

Kopernio is a technology startup which aims to allow users to easily and legally read the full texts of scientific journal articles. Using artificial intelligence, this tool automatically records the institutional subscriptions each user has and searches for full-text versions of selected papers to which the user may have access.  It has developed a freely available plugin allowing users with subscriptions through their higher education libraries to access papers in subscribed journals, even when the user is off-campus. Academics hunting for research papers often need to sign into multiple websites and follow many links to locate a downloadable PDF, despite having legal access.

Kopernio works with Google Scholar and publisher websites (Sage, Wiley, Springer, Taylor & Francis, etc.) to find freely available PDFs. Kopernio is fully integrated with the Web of Science, PubMed and Biological Abstracts databases, but does not necessarily work with all database interfaces.
