The 2018 International Open Access Week. “Designing Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge”.In celebration of International Open Access Week (OAW), the Nazarbayev University (NU) Library organized various activities on October 15-21, 2018. Part of the OAW program consisted of reports, seminars, lectures, workshops and a movie night.
Lectures on Open Access were presented by guest speakers. Among them were Lesley Moyo, a librarian from University of Wisconsin Madison and Damel Mektepbayeva, a young scientist and Senior Manager from Innovation Development Department of NU. Members of the Nomad NU debate club argued on the topic: “Open Access: Yes or No?”
Representatives from the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan, Library of Cardiac Surgery Center, and NU community took an active part in the events of OAW.
International Open Access week is an annual event which provides a series of actions and supports the importance of Open Access as a model for dissemination of knowledge.
