Engineering Standards: Searching for Standards

Open and subscribed resources for searching standards

Searching Standards

  • It is necessary to know title or code/number of series or the name of the publishing organization to search for the standards
  • Many major standards like ISO, IEC, EN are commonly being adopted by another standard. In a case when you are not able to access the actual standard, look for the standard that has adopted the standard you are looking for.
  • Some standards are also referenced and included as appendices in technical books so try searching using Primo or in specific e-books database.
