Searching for the standards it is necessary to know title or code/number of series or the name of the publishing organization.
Many major standards like ISO, IEC, EN are commonly being adopted by another standard. In a case when you are not able to access the actual standard, look for the standard that has adopted the standard you are looking for.
Some standards are also referenced and included as appendices in technical books so try searching using Primo or in specific e-books database.
