Beall's List was an initiative from the University of Colorado librarian Jeffrey Beall. Its aim was to collect the open-access publishers and journals that skipped peer review processes and effective article formats. The Beall's list started in 2008, and became a widely followed piece of work. Potential predatory scholarly open‑access publishers & journals put the research world in danger. Not only the researchers will decrease their reliability by using this list, but also the ordinary people, who may fail to critically appraise the research articles, and use the potentially harmful articles to build conspiracy theories. That is why it is important to avoid the predatory scholarly publishers who may go against the academic integrity and other ethical standards.
