The Nazarbayev University Library and The Association of University Libraries in the Republic of Kazakhstan invite to participate in the seminar for academic libraries' staff within the framework of the annual School of Library Technologies for professional training and development:

Contemporary academic library: management, resources, technologies and services

December 4-8, 2023 | 9 AM - 5.30 PM

Objectives

  • Improve skills to meet the modern requirements to academic libraries’ work
  • Training in advanced technologies and tools for improvement of the information and library support of the research and educational activities of the university.
  • Guide in project management and use of marketing tools in library activities.
  • Instruct in basics on information and educational inclusion for development of library and information environment accessible for different patrons.

Learning outcomes

  • to apply knowledge for further improvement of library and information service;
  • to apply the project management approach in solving the existing problems and implementation of new library and information services 
  • to be able to understand the needs of users with special needs while providing access to information.

We ensure

  • assessment of knowledge acquisition;
  • certificates of attendance in professional development at Nazarbayev University Library.

The registration will be open on November 15 until 12 PM on December 1, 2023.

Participate

Participation fee is as follows:

  • 20000 tg for participants working in the Library member of The Association of University Libraries in the Republic of Kazakhstan

  • 40000 tg for participants working in the Library non-member of The Association of University Libraries in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ethics

We advise each participant to observe the following practices. Your solidarity shows utmost respect to speakers and co-participants. 

  1. Always be on time to check in to the seminar. It is recommended that you come to the assigned room 10 minutes before the actual start of the event.
  2. The registration team will check attendance for those requesting certificates. We strongly recommend using your first and last name when you register. 
  3. Please raise your hand or asking questions. Kindly mention your first and last name, institution, and country.
  4. We request your full attention. If nothing is urgent, please avoid replying to other things not associated with the seminar.
  5. To accommodate more questions, we advise you to ask concise questions. Introduce yourself as short as possible and directly ask your questions.
  6. Most importantly, let us respect each other by using positive language. The organizers reserve the right to ban any participant that shows disrespect or uncalled for behavior.
