This conference is organised in collaboration with IFLA Management of Library Associations and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Higher Education Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Astana City.
It is the first time the EALC has been co-organized with IFLA, and we are genuinely excited to have this opportunity. This event aims to open more doors of collaboration not just for librarians and professionals in Kazakhstan but also in the wider region and globally. It also aims to showcase Kazakhstan’s beauty and hospitality to the world.
EALC programme can be accessed online.
The conference sessions will be held in the Orange Hall, Block C2.
Please note that the workshop sessions can accommodate a limited number of participants, so please add your name to the list at the registration desk to secure a place.
The workshop sessions will take place in the Library, Block 5. Ask at the registration desk for directions or check the NU campus map here.
This 3-day conference features experts in Library and Information Science (LIS) from the Eurasian region and worldwide. There will be a mix of onsite, live, and recorded presentations. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, some speakers will present online. We encourage participants to ask questions and take part in the discussions.
The conference will employ three languages (EN, KZ, RU) with simultaneous translations to be provided for plenary sessions and some selected parallel sessions. Earphones for translations will be issued for participants and guests who will need them and should be returned before lunch and/or after the sessions in the afternoon. Please present your national IDs (local delegates) and passports (international delegates) to get one.
Please find time to visit the sponsors’ exhibition during the conference. There are some prizes to be won with some of them. Also, take this chance to network and chat with other participants, speakers, and sponsors; a simple hello and a smile are proven ways to start a conversation!
Coffee breaks will be outside of Orange Hall, close to the registration desk.
The lunch breaks will be in the "Opetit" café (Block C3). Our team of volunteers will guide you during lunchtime so you won’t be lost. Transportation to the Gala Dinner on day two will be provided (Block C2).
