Constantly updated guide to the right use of AI generated content in the study and research

IEEE states that the use of AI - generated text in an article shall be disclosed

  • in the acknowledgements section;
  • as necessary throughout the article (so, e.g., at the end of a paragraph, section, etc.);
  • within the Reference section.

The sections of the paper that use AI-generated text shall have a citation to the AI system used to generate the text in the format of Software citation.

J. K. Author. Title of Software. Date Repository or Archive. (version or year). Publisher Name. Accessed: Date (when applicable). [Type of Medium]. Global Persistent Identifier. Available: site/path/file.

 IEEE suggests to add as mich inforamation as possible. The metadata would benefit from the details, although it is not required for reference listing (contributor name, licanse, description, unique identifyer etc.). With this it is possible to include the promt as a subject of interaction:

According to the Software Citation Principles: "software should be considered a legitimate and citable product of research."
