Many generative AI serve as improved search engines to provide organized and summarized information from different sources. The quality of the generated content depends on the quality of the prompt and data that they use to produce information.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT developed by OpenAI is a chatbot that can generate human-like text based on conversational prompts from a user. Generative Pretrained Transformer is a conversational AI trained using Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), which makes it possible for ChatGPT to provide detailed human-like, sophisticated text answers.

Gemini

Gemini is a Google chatbot trained using natural language processing to enhance Google Search. It can seamlessly integrate into email, websites, google applications to deliver responses to user inquiries. It features contextual responses and able to improve results with follow up questions. Gemini feature access to the internet.

Copilot

Copilot is a Microsoft conversational AI assistant to search for information, generate text and images. Similar to other GPT your conversation will contribute to the training. The offered settings are "more creative", "more balanced", and "more precise". Can be integrated with Office 365 package offering a more intuitive and enriched work experience.

Perplexity

An internet-connected language model that allows work in a model adapted for academic work. The responses are completed with citations, however, having a lack depth in specific areas. Users can create collections of related queries and organize their research threads for easier access and collaboration. This feature is particularly useful for managing extensive research projects or studies.
Use the tools as a start point for paraphrasing. Make sure you understand the content and the context to be able to question the accuracy and creativity. Be critical and contribute to the generated and paraphrased text. While you edit or refine, acknowledge the use of AI tools as academic integrity requires.

Claude

Claude is able to perform text-based and visual content generation, analysis, and conversation including complex discussions, creative and technical content, and interpretation of visual data. 

QuillBot

Quillbot is an AI powered tool for editing and paraphrasing. It's able to check grammar, punctuation, and rephrase the text with synonyms and alternative words. Additional features - plagiarism/AI detection, translation and citation generator. The ready summary can be paraphrased as many times as you like it.

Free, user-friendly, and can be used to generate boilerplate, refactor code, add documentation, explain code, suggest bug fixes, and more.

Formula Bot

A complex tool that allows users to generate Excel formulas, convert text into Excel formulas, analyze and visualize data.
AI tools generate images using the own content and public domain. The correct prompt is important to create the right picture. You have to describe Setting, Objects, Colors, Mood, Action or Movement, Styles or Themes. Make sure you don't violate the copyright and restrictions of the output (ex. ownership, commercial use not permitted; use the output to train another AI model or generating offensive content). Before you design the image or the graph for your papers or manuscripts, check the policies to ensure it doesn't violate integrity principles.

Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly uses a generative AI and simple text prompts to create the highest-quality output-beautiful images, text effects, and fresh color palettes. The tool is based on the diffusion model, using text-based prompts it will add, edit or move elements on the picture. Free license allows 5 created images.

DALL-E

DALL-E is an AI system that can create realistic images and art from a description in natural language or edit pictures similar to Photoshop. Created by OpenAI who are also responsible for ChatGPT and integrated with GhatGPT. The name is derived from two influential figures: Dalí and WALL·E. The available upgraded versions (DALL-E2 and 3) can auto-generate images in a variety of styles (e.g. pencil drawing, acrylic painting, photographic), combining concepts, attitudes and styles. Each next versions feature improved prompt recognition and image quality, safety protocols preventing the generation of images that feature adult, violent, or hateful imagery. 

GenCraft

Gencraft is a free AI image and video engine working with different visual styles based on the recognized trends. We used the same prompt  "an artwork of a woman and a horse walking through a mountains oil painting style. The woman and a horse are on the pic of the mountains during a sunset".

ArtBreeder

Online platform that uses AI for image creation. Besides text-to-image  technique, you can mix, combine, collage, and work with the poses. VEED.io

Veed.io is an online platform designed for content creators. Good for simple video editing and creation, VEED.io includes user-friendly features allowing creators to work on easy-to-use editing tools. 

 

 

 

These tools are easy to use and makes creating presentations much faster and easier with graphics and images. They can use topic,  transcript or ready slides to create nice design in different styles. However, you will need to improve the content to adjust to the event and the context.

New tools are released almost every week. Most of developers confirm data privacy. Transcribing tools currently don't support all the languages but most popular and spoken with the promise to expand to more languages in the future. Limitations to a certain number of services in the free plans.

Otter.ai is a web based transcription tool. It can be used to record and transcribe conversations, meetings or  ideas.

VoiceOverMaker

Descript is a tool to write, record, transcribe, edit, collaborate, and share your videos and podcasts. No need to learn new tools, Descript works like the tools you have already learned. Cut, copy, and paste. Type to generate words in your voice using AI speech.

Is an online guessing game developed and published by Google that challenges players to draw a picture of an object or idea and then uses a neural network artificial intelligence to guess what the drawings represent. The AI learns from each drawing, improving its ability to guess correctly in the future. Can you tell a fake face from a real one? Tell and think critically about data, images and information which can be easily generated by the computers.

Real or Fake Text

The result of the research project let you evaluate how good you are at noticing whether text has been generated by a machine. Play and answer the questions : How good are you (and other humans) at knowing when text has been written by a computer? How many sentences can a computer write before it no longer has you fooled? Is the computer better at generating convincing text if the topic is news, or short stories, or maybe presidential speeches? And lastly, when you notice text has a mistake in it that gives it away as computer-generated, how easy is it to fix that mistake?
