This Research Support guide is designed to make NU researchers aware of research-focused services and resources available through the NU Library

Digital Repository Services

Nazarbayev University Repository(NUR)

Institutional electronic archive on DSpace 7 for long term storage, accumulation and provision of open access to scientific research results and intellectual products of the NU Community. 

Research Support librarians can help you with navigating through NUR and:

  • explain the repository policies and copyright requirements
  • provide sessions upon requests
  • provide one-on-one consultations

Research Support Librarians can provide the following type of sessions and consultations:

  • A tutorial session on the item submission to the NU Repository
  • Open access publishing opportunities for NU authors
  • Finding a relevant journal for your research and publication

The sessions can be online, offline, recorded or one-on-one consultations upon the user's request.

Interlibrary Loan Services

NU community can request articles/book chapters not available through the library.

In order to request, fill out the InterLibrary loan form or email interlibraryloan@nu.edu.kz with full citation information of the source.

Open Access Publishing

NU currently has open access publishing agreements with Wiley, ACM, and Cambridge University Press. NU-affiliated authors can choose from a wide range of fully gold open access and hybrid open access journals for publishing, with NU covering the APC under the agreement terms. Please refer to the following guides for eligibility criteria, author guidelines, and the list of eligible journals:

Help in Searching Relevant Information

Research Support librarians can recommend the most suitable databases based on your research topic. The NU library has access to over 100 subscription-based databases and open access resources. They can help you to develop effective search strategies by choosing appropriate keywords, Boolean operators, and using advanced search techniques to refine results.
