Room and Equipment
The Video Recording Studio (5e424) provides NU Community with space and equipment to create videos for different purposes including class projects, course introductions, presentation practice, interview practice and more.
The studio is designed with professional lighting, backdrops, green screen, and sound-treated walls and door. The room is not completely soundproof, and you may occasionally hear noise from the environment.
The equipment includes:
- Light projectors Acme E-40, Spotlights Acme LP-F1000VW
- Professional display Nec E656
- Green Cotton Data video 4*3 m
The space outside the recording areas can be used to complete your audio, video, and design projects.
The room is located on the 4th floor of the library extension (5E.424).
The permitted capacity of the room is 5 people.
Policy
- The studio can be used for interview, presentation, performance recording or photography, musical instruments may not be played in the studio.
- Views and opinions expressed in the content produced in the studio do not necessarily reflect those of the University or any employee thereof.
- Room is available on
- Monday-Friday at 9:00 am - 9:00 pm
- Saturday-Sunday at .11 am - 7 pm.
- The person who booked the room agrees to be financially responsible and shall pay for any damage to or loss of the equipment in the room.
- You can bring your own equipment.
- The introductory orientation for safely use and policies of this studio is required before first use.
- Only a person who booked the room may check out the room key.
- The keys available upon request at the Circulation Desk 3rd floor in exchange of ID card.
- In case of a lost key, the requester has to make a duplicate of the key at his/her own expenses in two days.
- Do not leave the room unlocked or unattended at any time.
- Turn off all lights and exit any of the technology you used before leaving the room.
- Materials and personal items left unattended may be removed by library staff.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the room.
- It is strictly forbidden to move furniture at will. If there is a need, please notify the librarian.
- For your safety, it is strictly prohibited to remove electrical outlets.
- The library reserves the right to revoke permission to use the room in the case of non-compliance with these policies.
How do I reserve a room?
- Because the use cases for this room and soft/hardware needs could be complex, the room reservations are moderated.
- To reserve the rooms, please complete the online booking form.
- The reservation is complete when received written confirmation from the library.
- Faculty and staff can borrow additional equipment or request hardware maintenance from IT Helpdesk (https://helpdesk.nu.edu.kz/support/home). Students Affair Department may submit the request to IT for students. The additional equipment includes:
- Video camera Panasonic HC-VXF999, Tripod Manfrotto, 4 GB SD card
- Microphone Sennheiser ME-2US
- Digital sound processor QSC Qsys Core 110F-Flex.
